Terms of Service

These terms apply to BusinessWorld.com.my, a directory of Malaysian businesses run by Surf Seven Network (200203092812) of Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia — “we” and “us” below. By using the site, or by submitting, claiming, editing, renewing or paying for a listing, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Listings are free

Listing a business is free, and staying listed is free. There are no accounts. A listing is managed through links we email to the address it was registered with, so whoever controls that address controls the listing.

What you may submit

• A real business that operates lawfully in Malaysia.
• Under its registered name, exactly as it appears on its SSM registration — not a brand or trading name.
• With details that are accurate, and that you keep accurate.
• Only if you own the business or are authorised to act for it.
• Once. One business has one listing.
• With a logo and wording you have the right to use.

What you submit remains yours. You give us permission to publish it on the site, to let search engines show it, and to edit it for length, clarity and accuracy. We choose the categories a listing appears under, and we may write a description from the business’s own website where none was given.

What we may do

Every submission is checked before it is published, partly by automated systems. We may refuse, edit, take offline or remove any listing at our discretion — for example one that is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, a duplicate, or for a business that is no longer trading.

Renewal

A listing is published for one year at a time. We send reminders by email before the year ends; renewing is free and takes one click. A listing that is not renewed goes offline, and can be brought back from the link in the last reminder.

Verified listings

A listing is marked Verified once we have checked an SSM registration document against its business name. That is all the badge means. It is not a recommendation, and it says nothing about the quality of a business or of what it sells.

Verified listings are shown before unverified ones. The badge comes off when the business name changes or the registration runs out, until a document is checked again.

Featured listings

A featured listing is a paid placement.

• Price. RM30 a month. For orders paid on or before 31 October 2026 the price is RM10 a month, for every month in the order. One order is for one to twelve months.
• Payment. In advance, in Ringgit Malaysia, through HitPay, our payment provider.
• What you get. For the months paid for, the listing appears in the Featured section at the top of its category pages, of its state page and of matching search results, and may appear in the Featured section of the home page. It also stays in the directory as before. Where several listings are featured, they take turns, and not every one is shown every time. We promise no particular position, number of visitors or number of enquiries.
• When it starts. When HitPay confirms the payment. The site is updated once a day, so the placement appears within 24 hours. Months bought while a listing is already featured are added to the end of its current period.
• When it ends. When the months paid for run out. Nothing renews by itself and nothing further is charged. We email the listing’s owner a reminder 7, 3 and 1 days before the period ends, and once more when it has ended, each with a link to feature the listing for longer.
• What can be featured. Only a listing that is published. The period keeps running if the listing goes offline, whether because it was not renewed or because it was taken down.
• Refunds. A payment is not refundable once the featured period has begun, unless we are unable to provide the placement. No refund is due for a listing we remove because it breaks these terms.

Using the site

You must not:

• collect contact details from the site in order to send unsolicited messages;
• copy the directory, or a substantial part of it;
• submit false details, or claim a business that is not yours;
• interfere with the site, or try to get round its limits.

The businesses listed here

We do not own, endorse or vouch for the businesses listed. Their details were given by the businesses themselves or carried over from an earlier directory, and may be out of date. Any dealing you have with a listed business is between you and that business.

Our liability

The site is provided as it is, and we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site, from the content of a listing, or from dealings with a listed business. For a featured listing, our liability is limited to the amount paid for it.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Using the site after that date means you accept the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia decide any dispute about them.
